Tigran Mikaelyan

Tigran Mikaelyan is a German-Armenian violinist, cultural entrepreneur and artistic director, widely recognized for his work in developing international orchestral and cross-disciplinary musical projects.

Since 2003, he has been the founder, Chief Executive Officer and Artistic Director of Neue Philharmonie Hamburg, an orchestra that has established a distinctive presence in the cultural life of Hamburg and on the international concert scene. Under his leadership, the ensemble has grown into a recognized artistic brand, known for its dynamic programming, international collaborations and wide-ranging repertoire.

The orchestra regularly appears at major concert venues and festivals and has developed an active international touring profile across Europe and beyond, contributing to its reputation as a flexible and innovative symphonic ensemble.

Alongside his work with the orchestra, Mikaelyan actively develops independent artistic projects and collaborations with leading musicians of the international classical scene. Among the artists he has worked with are Mikhail Pletnev, Maxim Vengerov, Daniel Lozakovich, Mischa Maisky, Polina Osetinskaya, Narek Hakhnazaryan and other distinguished performers.

Beginning in 2027, he is also initiating a new international music festival in Montenegro, conceived as a meeting point for outstanding performers, young talents and innovative artistic projects in one of the most picturesque cultural landscapes of the Adriatic region.

Within the artistic life of Neue Philharmonie Hamburg, Mikaelyan has also initiated a regular chamber music concert series, designed to highlight the individual artistry of the orchestra’s musicians. In these concerts, members of the orchestra perform in various chamber formations — from small ensembles to a string chamber orchestra — presenting refined and intimate programs alongside the orchestra’s large symphonic projects.

In addition to his performing and managerial career, Tigran Mikaelyan is a respected educator. Since 2001, he has been teaching at the Johannes Brahms Conservatory and at several other music academies, with a particular focus on supporting and developing young musical talent. He is regularly invited to serve as a jury member at prestigious international competitions, including the finals of Classic Violin Olympus in Dubai and the nationwide German competition Jugend musiziert.

A significant part of his activity is devoted to social and cultural engagement. Mikaelyan has long been involved in charitable initiatives, organizing concerts in support of public causes and initiating programs aimed at cultural dialogue and international exchange.

Tigran Mikaelyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia. At the age of five he began studying the violin, and two years later he was admitted to the prestigious Tchaikovsky Special Music School. After completing his studies there, he continued his education at the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in St. Petersburg under Professor A. Fischer.

Since the mid-1990s, he has been based in Germany.

Marco Parisotto

Born in Montreal of Italian lineage, Marco Parisotto is among Canada’s foremost conductors on the international scene. A guest with orchestras around the globe, with unrelentingly high standards of performance, he continues to thrill audiences with his passionate music-making. He is the winner of seven major international competitions and crowned these achievements at the 1997 “Besançon International Competition for Conductors”, being awarded both the Grand Prix as well as the Prix du Public – a historical first at this elite event.

Marco Parisotto’s close association with orchestras is manifested through the strong relationships he has maintained with ensembles under his leadership. As Artistic Director of the Ontario Philharmonic in Canada, a title he has held for over two decades, he has earned praise for the orchestra’s development and adventurous performances. In 2013 he was unanimously elected as Music Director of the Jalisco Philharmonic, transforming this ensemble into one of Latin America’s most distinguished orchestras. Under his direction, the Jalisco Philharmonic garnered international attention with its virtuosic performances and participated in recordings, tours, international festivals and major events such as Operalia, The World Opera Competition. During his tenure the orchestra undertook major concert tours eliciting great critical and public acclaim as they visited Germany, Austria, the USA and Mexico in leading concert halls of Berlin, Munich, Essen, Vienna, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Busan and Mexico City. As well, through Maestro Parisotto, the orchestra completed significant commercial recording projects, starting with the Philharmonic’s first release under the SONY Classical label.

Following a special concert celebrating Canada-China relations in 1999 at the Grand Theatre in Shanghai, Marco Parisotto was appointed Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, a position he held until 2003. He has also been Music Director of the Ontario Philharmonic in Canada since 1996 and is credited with building this orchestra to the high standard it enjoys today. Under his leadership Ontario Philharmonic has received superlative audience and media recognition.

Throughout the 2023-2024 season, Marco Parisotto was invited by the Neue Philharmonie Hamburg to celebrate their historical 20 Year Anniversary with various concerts and tours in major concert halls of Germany.

Marco Parisotto has won critical and public praise for his interpretations of the great Austro-German repertoire – as R.Strauss, Bruckner, Wagner, and as an avid Mahlerian. He has also been acclaimed for his readings of Russian masters as Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Stravinsky, and for his passionate performances in the operatic field. He has led productions including, among others, Pagliacci, Cavalleria Rusticana, Carmen, Otello, Madama Butterfly, Tosca, La Boheme, Aida, Rigoletto, Don Giovanni and Turandot

Marco Parisotto has appeared in major concert halls throughout the world, conducting many leading orchestras including the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, Philharmonia Orchestra of London, Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano “La Verdi”, Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano, New Jersey Symphony, Toronto Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic, Edmonton Symphony, Vancouver Symphony, National Arts Center Orchestra in Ottawa, Orchestre symphonique de Québec, Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá, Busan Philharmonic, Osaka Philharmonic, Tokyo Symphony, Tokyo Philharmonic, Seoul Philharmonic, Louisiana Philharmonic, Erfurt Philharmonic, Belgrade Philharmonic, Georges Enescu Philharmonic, Janacek Philharmonic, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, Opéra de Bordeaux, Opéra de Marseille, Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg and Philharmonique de Liège. He was received with great enthusiasm at the international Festivals of Evian, Menton, Besançon, Festival Cervantino, Wieniawski International Festival (Poland), May Festival of Guadalajara, Festival of Opera in Jalisco, Skaneateles Festival New York, Busan Maru International Music Festival and Bolzano Festival; at the Yerevan International Music Festival with the Armenian National Philharmonic; at the Montreal Opera, Shanghai Opera, Opera Giuseppe Verdi di Trieste, Serbian National Theatre; in Mexico with the Mexico City Philharmonic, Orquesta Filarmonica de la UNAM, Orquesta Sinfonica Sinaloa de las Artes, Orquesta Sinfonica de UANL, Camerata de Coahuila, Sinfonica Carlos Chavez, Camara de Bellas Artes, Orquesta de Baja California; in China with the Shanghai Symphony, China National Symphony and Gui Yang Symphony. He has also led to acclaim the Polish National Radio Symphony, Monte-Carlo Philharmonic, Orchestra Nazionale della RAI of Torino, Orquesta de Cordoba, Orchestre de Bayonne Côte-Basque. On several occasions, at Théâtre des Champs Élysées in Paris, he was a guest of Orchestre des Concerts Lamoureux.

Marco Parisotto is the winner of seven important international competitions. Aside from his noteworthy awards at the prestigious Besançon Competition, joining the ranks of maestros like Seiji Ozawa and Michel Plasson, other top prizes have included the Tokyo International Conductors’ Competition in Japan, Constantin Silvestri Competition in Romania and the Antonio Pedrotti in Italy. He was moreover honored with all other special awards at these events.

He took his training both as a violinist and pianist and studied conducting with eminent maestros including Leonard Bernstein, Carlo Maria Giulini, Leonard Slatkin, Charles Brück, Yuri Temirkanov, Georg Tintner and, initially, with Raffi Armenian at the Conservatoire de Musique du Québec in Montreal.

Bojan Sudjic

One of the leading figures of Serbian conducting, Bojan Sudjic is the Founder, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Serbian Philharmonic Orchestra.

For almost two decades, he served as Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Symphony Orchestra and Choir of Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), shaping its artistic identity through an exceptionally broad repertoire and establishing the ensemble as one of the leading musical institutions in the country. Under his leadership, the RTS Symphony Orchestra and Choir achieved outstanding artistic recognition through major symphonic, vocal-symphonic and choral projects, numerous premieres, and extensive recordings for radio and television, forming the foundation of an internationally acknowledged discography.

He also held the position of Artistic Director and General Music Director of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre in Belgrade, where he conducted a wide range of standard and contemporary operatic and ballet repertoire, confirming his strong presence in the operatic field alongside his symphonic work.

A particularly important segment of his career is his long-standing relationship with BEMUS (Belgrade Music Festival), the most prestigious classical music festival in Serbia. He holds the record for the highest number of individual appearances at BEMUS and served three consecutive mandates as Artistic Director, shaping the festival’s artistic vision and strengthening its international profile.

He has also maintained a long-standing artistic collaboration with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, with which he appeared regularly as a guest conductor, performed at major national festivals, recorded a CD featuring works by Sergei Rachmaninoff, and undertook international tours, including a concert tour in China, collaborating with leading international soloists. From January 2026, Bojan Sudjic has been appointed Director of the Belgrade Philharmonic.

Bojan Sudjic was closely involved in the establishment and artistic formation of the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra, contributing significantly to the development of symphonic life in the region.

After winning the Yugoslav Conducting Competition in Zagreb and following a notable performance at the Sibelius Conducting Competition in Helsinki, Sudjic established an important international career through long-term collaborations with major opera houses and orchestras. He served as Resident Conductor of the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm, where over five seasons he conducted more than 150 opera and ballet performances, including numerous premieres and festival appearances. He also enjoyed a close collaboration with the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki, conducting major productions and special gala performances.

As Principal Guest Conductor, he maintained a sustained and significant artistic relationship with the UNIMI Orchestra in Milan, as well as a decade-long collaboration with the OFUNAM Orchestra in Mexico City, with which he conducted major symphonic projects and anniversary concerts.

He has collaborated with many of the world’s most distinguished soloists, including Placido Domingo, Vadim Repin, Angela Gheorghiu, Maxim Vengerov, Nikolai Lugansky, Denis Matsuev, Ivo Pogorelic, Thomas Hampson, Michel Beroff , Shlomo Mintz ,Nemanja Radulovic, Boris Berezovsky, Bryn Terfel, Nigel Kennedy, Emmanuel Pahud , and Zeljko Lucic, among others.

Sudjic has performed at numerous prestigious international festivals, including the Rheingau Music Festival, the Shanghai Spring Festival, the Ljubljana Summer and Winter Festivals, NOMUS, Festival Maribor and the Aram Khachaturian International Festival, and has appeared on major world stages such as the Berlin Philharmonie and the ancient Herodion Theatre in Athens.

Sudjic is especially recognized for large-scale musical projects involving several hundred performers on stage, such as Orff’s Carmina Burana, Verdi’s and Berlioz’s Requiem, and Mahler’s Symphony No. 8, as well as for his long-term dedication to choral and a cappella repertoire, particularly through his work with the RTS Choir. He has premiered a significant number of contemporary works, many of which were written especially for him.

Born in Belgrade, Bojan Sudjic studied conducting at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in the class of Jovan Sajnovic, and continued his advanced studies with Ilya Musin in Saint Petersburg and Otmar Suitner in Vienna. He is Professor of Conducting at the Faculty of Music, University of Arts in Belgrade.

The company works in close cooperation with the orchestra on selected projects, contributing innovative artistic concepts and international artist collaborations.

Founded in 2007, Almazian Productions has built a strong reputation through collaborations with world-renowned musicians, orchestras, film directors and festivals. The company is behind numerous international cultural projects ranging from symphonic concerts and large-scale productions to cross-disciplinary artistic events.

It has partnered with leading institutions such as Sony Music Entertainment, French National Television and prestigious festivals including EXIT, Trans-Siberian Art Festival , BEMUS, Kustendorf Film & Music Festival while working with outstanding artists such as Emir Kusturica, Monica Bellucci, Zaz , Vassily Sinaisky , Mischa Maisky, Maxim Vengerov , Giovanni Sollima and Khatia Buniatishvili, among others.

In the film industry, Almazian Productions produced the recording of the soundtrack for Emir Kusturica’s film On the Milky Road, starring Monica Bellucci, Sloboda Micalovic and Miki Manojlovic, which was selected to compete at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival. The company also co-produced the film I Will Revenge This World with Love. S. Parajanov, which premiered at the 2024 Venice International Film Festival.

At the heart of the company stands its founder, Khachatur Almazian, whose work as a violinist, producer and artistic entrepreneur has shaped numerous innovative international projects.
